The recent Keymasters 2023 tournament, hosted by TypingStats.com, showcased some impressive typing skills and fierce competition. Our player standing out from California, United States, named Joshu, emerged as the ultimate champion of the event!
Joshu kicked things off by securing the top spot in the qualifiers with an astonishing average typing speed of 223 words per minute (wpm) over their last 20 matches, showing no mercy and dominating the top spot for themselves. To qualify, contestants had to type random content of different quotes from books and songs to random dictionary words averaged out their last 20 scores. Joshu accomplished 223 WPM on average in 20 matches!
Throughout the tournament, the score remained neck and neck, with both Joshu and Chak putting on a display of incredible typing speeds of over 200+ WPM. The tension escalated as the score reached an exhilarating 4-4 tie. But then came the final game – the moment that would decide the tournament’s outcome. With determination and lightning-fast fingers, Joshu managed to secure a hard-fought victory, winning the final game and the tournament with a 5-4 score, beating chak and claiming the title as world’s fastest typist by TypingStats.

Joshu’s Career
Joshu originally starting typing on NitroType on November 16, 2015. He’s quite the typist, with about 54K races, and his profile has caught the eyes of around 76K+ views. On top of all that, he holds the unique title “Speed Champion” thanks to a victory in a Nitro Type-sponsored typing showdown.
Since then, he’s started racing on TypeRacer since April 21, 2020. Over 26,800+ races later… he’s achieved an impressive average speed of 195 WPM, with a personal best record of 340 WPM!
